As we close the last stages of our strategic plan 2010-2015, we open the door to the final phase of Vision 2020: Creating a Culture of Excellence. The next five years will be fundamental for Texas A&M at Galveston to reach its full potential and meet the expectations of a unit of an AAU university and achieve Texas A&M University’s mission as a land, sea, and space grant institution of global preeminence. Our 12 months effort to formulate our strategic plan has been coordinated and open to a number of public comment periods. The resulting Strategic Plan 2016-2020 aligns with the university strategic plan and yet speaks to the unique nature of our campus. This Plan sets clear and measureable goals, at time ambitious, in areas of student and Faculty success, impact of scholarship and creative work, and stewardship of the public trust. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with this document since it will be the course map that will plot the direction the Galveston Campus over the next five years. I want to thank the entire TAMUG community for its participation in this process and look forward to the next five years.
